Belle de Nuit Wakefield Inn is a luxury nature retreat 25 minutes from the heart of Ottawa, in the vibrant village of Wakefield. We are one of the few establishments truly located inside the Gatineau Park. Open the door to your private patio, and you’ll enter a forested paradise where friendly deer frequently visit our guests . This FAQ will help you decide if our Quebec Inn is right for you or your group/corporate event.

During your stay, you’ll enjoy the comfort and convenience of full in-suite kitchens, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, free Wi-Fi and smart HD TV’s, large private patios, outdoor hot tubs (Not in the Red Bridge suite on the second floor), and the personal touch provided by your hosts and staff. Q:How do I make a reservation?

A:We offer an online reservation system for your convenience. While making your online reservation you will be prompted to select your check-in date, check-out date, and number of guests before selecting your room. If one of your dates is sold out, our online system will not be able to accommodate your check-out date.

Packages and add-ons are added in the booking system after you've selected your room(s).

Q:I never received a confirmation email?

A:Please call us at 819-720-0222 and we will confirm your reservation and resend your itinerary. You may also email us at reservations@belledenuit.ca

Q:What forms of payment can I use?

A:We accept Visa or MasterCard online and email money transfers for those booking over the phone.

Q:Do you require a deposit for my room?

A:If you reserve your room less than 8 days before arrival, we kindly ask that guests pay 100% of the booking in advance as it can be difficult for us to accommodate last minute cancelations with so few rooms at our disposal. Guests reserving more than 7 days before check-in will only be required to pay a 50% deposit at the time of their reservation, and will be charged the balance (50%) the day of your arrival.

Q:I need to cancel my reservation. What is your cancellation policy?

A:We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to avoid any unexpected costs linked to travel cancellations.

Unlike a large hotel, cancellations have a significant impact on our day-to-day operations since it is unlikely that we will be able to rebook your room on short notice as we only have 5 rooms. It is for this reason that our cancellation policy depends on how much notice is provided to us.
Our policy is:

If you cancel your room 5 full days or less before your arrival, sadly we cannot refund your stay. You will be charged your booking balance in full. However if we are able to rebook your room, we will refund your reservation, less our cancellation fee of $45 (plus tax) per room and any rebate we had to grant to re-rent your suite.

Example: We will refund a stay on a Friday (Minus the $ 45 administration fee and any rebate granted to re-rent the suite), if it is cancelled the previous Sunday. It will not be refunded if cancelled on Monday for a stay on Friday.

If you have rented our establishment for a private event or have rented 3 or more rooms we can only refund your booking if you cancel more than 21 days before your arrival. This was chosen because of the large impact cancelling group reservations has on a small inn like ours. If you are able to cancel more than 21 days before checking in, we will only deduct a 45$ fee per room in your booking.
If you cancell less than 21 full days from the starting day of your stay, as always we will attempt to rent out any cancelled reservations to other guests, in which case we will be able to proceed with a refund (less our $45 cancellation fee and any rebate granted to re-rent the suite).

Q:What are the check-in and checkout times? What if I have to arrive late?

A:Check in time is 4:00pm to 7:00pm, and our check out time is 11:00am. We do offer convenient upgrades for both (late check-out and early check-in.

We're a small family-run business. We live on site and love interacting with guests. That means when you need a local recommendation or help with some activity ideas, we're there for you. But it also means we don't run a 24/7 check-in desk. To be able to accommodate late arrivals after 7pm, we ask that guest please add our "late arrival upgrade" during their reservation. This upgrade allows us to staff for a late arrival, or make sure we can provide you what you need for check-in.

Q:How can I get a late checkout or early check-in

A:You may purchase an extra 2 hours of late check-out or early check-in during your online booking. This add-on is non-refundable. You can also request it at the front desk when you check in, and we will apply it to your invoice. Enjoy the convenience of sleeping in!

Q:What is the Wi-Fi password?

A:You will find the password beside the welcome binder in your room.

Q:Where can I park my car?

A:We have plenty of complimentary parking for cars and small trucks with plugs for heating in the winter. We are not liable for any damage that vehicles may sustain in the parking lot. Please do not park in the street as it is too narrow for this.

Q:Do you have a minimum bookable nights policy?

A:No we do not. There may be times where a two night minimum is required.

Q:What are your suites equipped with?

A:All suites feature complimentary Wi-Fi, Smart TV's that are Netflix compatible, in room kitchens, and room refreshing. We also have alarm clocks with USB ports to charge your mobile devices. Each suite also has different luxury amenities for your comfort; please see our Rooms page for descriptions of each themed suite.

Q:How many people are allowed in each room?

A:Base occupancy for all our suites is 2 people unless otherwise specified. They can accommodate between 2 and 6 guests depending on the room you’ve chosen. Additional guests are required to pay $40 per night depending on the suite. Please visit our Rooms page for full descriptions of our suites.

Q:Are pets allowed at Belle de Nuit?

A:Out of concern for our guests who may have allergies, we do not accept pets with one exception, small doga are accepted in the Tuscany suite. There is an excellent kennel very close to Belle de Nuit that we highly recommend : http://karefree.ca/index.php?Lang=En&ID=1

Q:Is smoking allowed?

A:Belle de Nuit is a non-smoking establishment including on our terraces and verandas. Smoking is allowed in our parking lot. If after your stay we smell smoke in your room, $500 will be charged to your credit card to pay for the required deep cleaning. 
We strive to keep our establishment clean and welcoming to all.

Q:What does my kitchen come equipped with?

A:Our kitchens feature a stove, sink, fridge, microwave, tea kettle and all the required cutlery for your convenience. This kitchen is very practical if you have certain dietary needs.

Q:Does my room have a phone?

A:Our rooms do not have landlines, so please bring your cell phones. Our rooms do have free Wi-Fi to help with communications.

Q:Are there any special options available for guests?

A:Yes! We have a variety of great options to meet your needs while you are on vacation. They are conveniently listed, for you to chose, as you reserve on our on-line reservation system.

Q:What if I want a lot of privacy during my stay?

A:Our rooms are entirely soundproofed and offer the utmost privacy. Please avoid stumping on the second floor. No amount of sound proofing can manage stumping fully. While our inn has common areas, these are used at the guest’s discretion.

Q:Do you accommodate groups?

A:It is our pleasure to accommodate your group. Families and friends and work functions may rent our entire establishment for private gatherings. We also have a 600 sq ft function room for your convenience. For more information on group events please click our Groups & Events menu.

Q:Where do the owners sleep?

A:As your hosts, we live on the property and are here to address your needs to make sure you have a comfortable and unforgettable experience in our establishment. There may be times where our on-site staff are responsible for your stay.

Q:Is my room wheelchair accessible?

A:Please contact us with your needs. Some of our rooms are ramp accessible, but do not have bathrooms with handicap accessibility.

Q:What is your inn's policy on Children?

A:Children are welcome at Belle de Nuit. That said we aim to maintain a relaxing environment for all of our guests. Parents are asked to accompany children under the age of 11 at all times while on the property. Thank you for your understanding.
